WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT BREAST CANCER: Breast cancer is the most common cancer found in women and it is deadly. It is the found in men too but it is commonly found in women. It happens in the cells of the breast. Breast cancer awareness will goes a long way to reduce the risk and increase the rate of survival.   • Family History: You run a risk of having breast cancer if you mum has it or any female in your family lineage had it.
  • Maturity: The risk of you having breast cancer increases as you get matured in age.
  • Breastfeeding And Exposure to Estrogen: Breastfeeding reduces the chances of you getting breast cancer. Pregnancy also reduces the chances of you being exposed to estrogen. You being exposed to estrogen increases your chances of getting breast cancer.
  • Alcohol: Alcohol exposes you to the chances of getting breast cancer.
  • Never Being Pregnant: Women who have never being pregnant have a higher risk of getting breast cancer than those who have been pregnant before or currently pregnant.
  • Been Exposed To Radiation: Having been exposed to radiation before at any time in your life, you run a risk of having breast cancer.
  • Over weight: Having overweight or being obese gives you a chance of having breast cancer.

So having looked at some of the risk factors, what are the things that actually cause breast cancer?

Breast cancer is actually caused by the rapid multiplication of breast cells. Breast cancer can begin in the milk duct or begin in the lobules and spreads from there to other parts.

Prevention

You can’t always prevent cancer because you can still get it from having any of the risk factors. But that doesn’t mean you should try preventing it the ways you can. Some of the ways you can prevent it is as follows:

  • Seek medical advice on breast cancer
  • Exercise regularly
  • Eat healthy with lots of fruits and vegetables
  • Always try to keep fit to maintain your weight
